Prototype Model Approach for Developing a Computed Tomography Scanner Application | Chapter 09 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 8
In the computed tomography (CT) research inquiry, the creation of software applications for image reconstruction systems is crucial. The research instrument utilised to generate a series of usable prototypes for testing reconstruction approaches was an experimental prototype. When constructing an initial prototype for the user, the prototype model technique has a short development duration. The MATLAB image processing toolkit, along with the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Graphical User Interface Development Environment, were used to construct a CT scanner software prototype (GUIDE). The prototype model was chosen to guide the development of the prototype application as well as to provide a platform for updating a system using current information. The prototype model could generate synthetic CT scanner datasets, display a sinogram picture generated by the synthetic datasets, assemble images using the back projection technique, and display cross-section images. This research p...
