Review ofa Case of Coexisting KRAS and BRAF Mutations in a Patient with Metastatic Colon Adenocarcinoma | Chapter 17 | Innovations in Medicine and Medical Research Vol.2
KRAS
and BRAF mutations are found in 30-50% and 10% of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC)
patients respectively. Here we report a unique case of mCRC with coexistent
KRAS and BRAF mutations. Patients harboring concomitant KRAS and BRAF mutations
do not usually respond to standard chemotherapeutic regimens, usually have
aggressive course of illness with poor prognosis and we are in dire need of
developing new treatment strategies.
