A Brief Study about HDACs: Novel Pharmacological Target in Diabetic Nephropathy | Chapter 4 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 13

The study's main goal was to figure out how HDACs play a role in the pathophysiology of Diabetic Nephropathy and whether targeting certain HDACs could help halt the progression of the disease. Benefits and downsides of HDAC inhibitors, as well as potential challenges

In Diabetic Nephropathy, HDAC inhibitors have various advantages:

TGF-beta 1 decreased, Collagen I decreased, Fibronectin decreased-SMA decreased-cadherin decreased, TGF-beta 1 decreased, Collagen I decreased, Fibronectin decreased-SMA decreased, TGF-beta 1 decreased, TGF-beta 1 decreased, TGF-beta 1 decreased, TGF-beta 1 decreased, TGF- Reduces the effects of eNOS, iNOS, and TGF-1 on fibrogenesis, apoptosis, and DNA damage. Klotho is preserved. Inhibits the Wnt signalling pathway. EGFR pathway inactivation Insulin sensitivity is improved. Insulin resistance and Beta cell proliferation are reduced. Apoptosis is reduced. Nephrin and podocin are restored. Inflammatory protein is suppressed. Insulin secretion increased, and glucose control improved. By activating Nrf2, it prevents endothelial impairment caused by diabetes. Prevents lipid dysfunction in the liver. Reduce the risk of diabetic retinopathy, In diabetics, it improves heart metabolic function. Obesity and body weight should be reduced. It slows down the ageing process. It helps to keep atherosclerosis at bay. Autophagy in the heart is prevented. TNF, MMP, ER stress, and caspase activation are all decreased when the ER Stress pathway is inhibited. The only disadvantage is that many HDAC inhibitors are said to produce too much ROS. However, this is countered by klotho, which may be triggered by inhibiting HDAC specifically, reducing oxidative stress.

Study on Processing Method Influences the Effect of Cassava (Manihot esculenta) Consumption on Blood Lipid Profile in Rats | Chapter 8 | Current Research and Development in Chemistry Vol.1

Cassava is consumed in many tropical countries and is fast becoming the major raw material of many diets, especially in the bakery, brewery and pharmaceutical industries. In a study to determine the effects of various formulations of Cassava feeds on blood lipid profile in rats. Forty adult Wistar rats weighing between 120 and 150 g were divided into 4 groups of 10 rats each. The rats were acclimatized for one week; fed with different formulations of Cassava feeds adlibitum, after which the rats were allotted into groups. Group 1 was fed on Garri; group 2 on Cassava flour; group 3 on Tapioca, and the control group (group 4) on normal chow. After 4 weeks, each animal was anaesthetized by exposure to chloroform vapour and blood samples collected by cardiac puncture.  Traditional Medicine Practitioners (TMPs) of Côte d'Ivoire are familiar with the therapeutic herbs. Medicinal plants have been shown to be useful in the treatment of common diseases such as malaria (KROA, 2004) and diabetes (N'GUESSAN et al, 2013) in several studies and scientific study.
