An Advanced Study on Sound Sources in Turbulent Jets | Chapter 1 | Current Topics on Mathematics and Computer Science Vol. 8
In order to better understand acoustic regimes in turbulent jets, a spatio-temporal velocity correlation analysis of aerodynamic flow was performed. Acoustic source regions are regarded as moving and fixed in space, respectively, when flow characteristics are evaluated in Lagrangian and Eulerian modes, conscious of their uniqueness. The space-time energy spectrum was used to generate correlation coefficient functions that might be used to forecast sound inside an acoustic zone. It is discovered that expressing the Eulerian turbulent velocity field in the similitude of a Fourier series yields the autocorrelation function of a particular time-bound spatial Fourier element.
