Azimuth-only Estimation of Target Course Using Trigonometric Function Directly | Chapter 13 | New Approaches in Engineering Research Vol. 14
The problem of calculating the target course angle solely by azimuth with a single station is investigated independently of the time parameter. If a stationary single station is assumed to be able to obtain the azimuth information of the target three times in a row with equal spacing in the moving path of the target on a two-dimensional plane, then the analytic expression of the target's course angle can be obtained in a simple mathematical form by directly using the trigonometric function. The error analysis reveals that the trigonometric function method for measuring target course angle accuracy is adequate for engineering applications.
