Environmental Protection and Safety during Covid-19 Era| Chapter 13 | Issues and Development in Health Research Vol. 2
Covid-19 has had a significant impact on the health-care industry. This pandemic illness makes many health care workers (HCWs) vulnerable, posing an occupational health risk. It has also had a profound impact on dental practise. Due to the uncertainty of vaccination availability and efficacy, the importance of personal protective equipment cannot be overstated in the current situation. Face masks and respirators play a significant role in the protection of health-care employees. Despite the fact that manufacturing has been increased, there has been an extreme scarcity of masks due to the current crisis. Mask production has also increased as a result of rising demand. It has presented a major “environmental” threat. This review attempts to outline the many types of masks available, their efficiency, and the best practises for using masks to obtain proper protection and avoid occupational health hazards, with a focus on eco-friendly masks for greater environmental safety.
