Investigating the Implementation of Supplier Evaluation and Ranking by Improved TOPSIS | Chapter 14 | Current Topics on Mathematics and Computer Science Vol. 8
This study develops a new hybrid algorithm for supplier selection and evaluation in supply chain management that considers both quantitative and qualitative factors.
To rank suppliers based on their overall performances, multi-criteria decision-making methodologies such as Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) improved by Rough set theory and Technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) are combined. To screen suppliers, the decision makers use crude set theory. AHP was used to determine the relative weights of evaluation criterion. Suppliers were given a rank based on their overall performance using TOPSIS. This technique aids the decision maker in finding the best supplier that can meet all of the supply chain management requirements.
To test the algorithm, a case study was undertaken in a high-tech company called Multi-Flex Lami-Print Ltd, which manufactures Flexible Packaging materials in India.
