Study on New Principles of Treatments in Malignant Hematological Diseases, as Acute and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Multiple Myeloma | Chapter 3 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 3

B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (B-CLL) is one of the most frequent hematologic cancers, affecting the elderly in particular. It's particularly intriguing because, despite being classified as apathologicalentity and having been studied for decades. The goal of this study is to describe the most recent findings in molecular medicine in terms of therapy for malignant hemopathies that have resulted from the deletion of the P53 gene in the human lymphoma genome. Method: In recent years, it has been demonstrated that Flow Cytometry, Elisa, ICT, and Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization are the best techniques for investigating malignant lymphocytes (FISH). This approach is utilised as an alternative to chromosomal banding, which is a common molecular medicine application. Discussion: Endogenous somatic gene therapy research has recently been a foundation of clinical and therapeutic trials. The DNA is utilised to cure an illness that develops as a result of chromosomal mutations. This approach has been used in the treatment of CLL, acute lymphocytic leukaemia [ALL], and multiple myeloma [MM] in recent years.

Conclusion: The frequencies of P53 gene mutations and deletions in CLL can be classified as individual biomarkers in the proteomic and genomic profile for this kind of leukaemia, which can be used in personalised medicine for focused patient treatment.

Greening Regional Airports: A Vision for Carbon Neutral Infrastructure | Chapter 12 | Contemporary Perspective on Science, Technology and Research Vol. 3

This study provides an overview of the energy demand of a regional airport, divided into individual time horizons. The electrification of aircraft systems raises the question of whether airports will be among the largest electricity consumers in our infrastructure in the future. Sustainability and especially emission reductions are significant challenges for airports that are currently being addressed. The Clean Sky 2 project GENESIS addresses the environmental sustainability of hybrid-electric 50-passenger aircraft systems in a life cycle perspective to support the development of a technology roadmap for the transition to sustainable and competitive electric aircraft systems. This article originates from the GENESIS research and describes various options for ground power supply at a regional airport. Potential solutions for airport infrastructure with a short (2030), medium (2040), and long (2050) time horizon are proposed. In addition to the environmental and conservation benefi...

Study on Processing Method Influences the Effect of Cassava (Manihot esculenta) Consumption on Blood Lipid Profile in Rats | Chapter 8 | Current Research and Development in Chemistry Vol.1

Cassava is consumed in many tropical countries and is fast becoming the major raw material of many diets, especially in the bakery, brewery and pharmaceutical industries. In a study to determine the effects of various formulations of Cassava feeds on blood lipid profile in rats. Forty adult Wistar rats weighing between 120 and 150 g were divided into 4 groups of 10 rats each. The rats were acclimatized for one week; fed with different formulations of Cassava feeds adlibitum, after which the rats were allotted into groups. Group 1 was fed on Garri; group 2 on Cassava flour; group 3 on Tapioca, and the control group (group 4) on normal chow. After 4 weeks, each animal was anaesthetized by exposure to chloroform vapour and blood samples collected by cardiac puncture. Group 1 diet (Garri) significantly increased HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) concentration and significantly decreased LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) concentration (p<0.05) compared with the control group. In Group 2 (Cassava flour), t...

Ethnopharmacological Survey among Traditional Medicine Practitioners in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) for the Management of Pathologies such as Malaria, ENT Diseases, Diarrhea, Typhoid Fever and Anemia | Chapter 05 | New Horizons in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 8

Traditional Medicine Practitioners (TMPs) of Côte d'Ivoire are familiar with the therapeutic herbs. Medicinal plants have been shown to be useful in the treatment of common diseases such as malaria (KROA, 2004) and diabetes (N'GUESSAN et al, 2013) in several studies and scientific study. In the Abidjan District, the current policy is to integrate traditional medicine and pharmacopoeia into the national health system in order to improve population health coverage, particularly in the management of commonly encountered diseases such as malaria, ENT diseases, diarrhoea, typhoid fever, and anaemia. This research aims to increase the use of traditional medicine and pharmacopoeia in the national health system. Over the course of three months, fifty (50) PMTs in the District of Abidjan participated in this study. Plant therapists accounted for 30 of the 50 PMTs polled at the end of the study, or 60%. Traditional medicine centres use 61 types of medicinal plants from 36 famili...
