Green Synthesis of L-DOPA Coated Gold Nanoparticles from a Natural Source | Chapter 7 | Challenges and Advances in Chemical Science Vol. 4
Green nanotechnology is a partnership between plant science and nanotechnology that provides an intrinsically green approach to nanotechnology known as plant-based phytochemicals in general synthesis and nano-phytomedicine engineering. The purpose of this study is to use scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Visible spectrophotometer, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to characterise gold nanoparticles made from varied quantities of Mucuna monosperma seed extract. Mucuna monosperma belongs to the Fabaceae family and is a big climbing shrub. When compared to other concentratios, the gold nanoparticles generated with 4 percent seed extract had good stability. Analytical instruments such as FTIR, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, and SEM were used to investigate the surface characteristics of gold nanoparticles. The gold nanoparticles generated are spherical in shape and can be coated with L-DOPA obtained from plants. This paves the way for a variety of applications, including a crucial role in innovative drug delivery systems (NDDS).
