Greener Buchwald-Hartwig Reaction on Various Heterocycles Using Eucalyptol as Solvent | Chapter 4 | New Innovations in Chemistry and Biochemistry Vol. 2
The use of eucalyptol as a bio-based solvent for the Buchwald-Hartwig reaction on various heterocycles is described here. This solvent is intriguing on the one hand because it is non-toxic, and on the other hand because its use is a source of development for the consumption of paper industry waste in the form of leaves. In this work, heterocycles containing oxygen, sulphur, and nitrogen were chosen as targets or starting materials since they can have interesting therapeutic properties. Our goal was to show that eucalyptol could be a viable, long-term replacement to conventional solvents.
