Implementation of Compliance Based Quality Management Systems in Medical Diagnostic Laboratories Benchmarked for Accreditation | Chapter 15 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 14
The purpose of this study was to track the application of current regulatory compliance in medical testing laboratories connected to quality systems. Accreditation is the process of ensuring that certification processes are implemented in laboratories in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the latter. As a result, laboratories can improve their technological procedures, gain a competitive advantage, and expand their market share. The proper implementation of the laboratory quality management system (LQMS) is a requirement for accreditation. The evaluation of quality system implementation in small, medium, and big laboratories, including management and technical needs, was carried out in this study. Improve and sustain the implementation of quality system standards in the laboratory process, and talk about how to meet the current quality system criteria in testing labs. The study was scored on how well the quality system was implemented in the laboratory's numerous operational tasks. Data was acquired by auditing laboratories utilising a check list for the goal of implementing an ISO quality management system. This study emphasises that training is an important component that can help create awareness and understanding of the importance of implementing a quality system in medical testing laboratories. In order to sustain world-class laboratory service, training needs should be evidence-based, measure laboratory staff proficiency, and evaluate staff performance. The quality indicators can be used to compare services and improve them. The study indicates that LQMS in medical testing laboratories demonstrate the importance of understanding current quality system implementation and maintenance requirements in order to improve laboratory service quality and facilitate certification. A breakdown in quality system implementation might result in a drop in service quality and, as a result, certification.
