Lymphoepithelioma-like Carcinoma of the Breast: A Variant with Characteristic Histopathological and Immunohistochemical Features | Chapter 11 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 9

The goal of the study is to disclose a rare case of Lymphoepithelioma-Like Carcinoma of the Breast, which may help other colleagues gain a better understanding of the literature. LELC (lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma) is an undifferentiated carcinoma that arises in organs other than the nasopharynx and has the same morphology as nasopharangeal lymphoepithelioma. It has been reported in a variety of organs, however it is uncommon in the breast. LELC can be misdiagnosed as lymphoma or medullary carcinoma due to the undifferentiated appearance of neoplastic cells and the presence of a significant lymphocytic infiltration. In this case, we show a 39-year-old woman's LELC of the breast with clinical, histological, and immunohistochemical characteristics, as well as a differential diagnosis.
